Siller Foundation to help the family of fallen Worcester Lt Menard

In typical honorable fashion, in less than a day after his passing, the Siller Foundation has announced that it is responding to help our fallen brother of Worcester Fire Lieutenant Jason Menard.

The Stephen Siller Tunnel to Towers Foundation is raising money to pay off the mortgage on Lt Menard’s home. Jason Menard lost his life while searching for a reported missing family in a house fire. When things went bad quickly, Lt Menard laid down his life to help his brothers get out of the house. Worcester Chief Michael Lavoie said Menard “heroically & selflessly saved his crew, helping a probationary firefighter to the stairs, then returning to rescue another trapped firefighter & assisting him out the window.

This action by the SIller Foundation is nothing new. The Foundation immediately steps in for FDNY & NYPD that die in the line of duty to help ease any burdens the family may have. All of this is done in memory of FDNY FF Stephen Siller, who lost his life in the line of duty on September 11th, 2001 with Squad 1.
